Fiesta Guide

Fiestas are an important part of Spanish life. There are many fiestas during the year and below are some of them:

January

  • 5th - The Three Kings - A possession with floats for the children. The Spanish children receive their presents.
  • 6th - Epiphany.
  • 23rd - Bull running in the old town to celebrate San Sebastian, the Patron Saint of Javea.

February

  • 26th - Carnival - A fancy dress parade for the children.

March

  • 19th - National Fiesta - Fathers Day - (Saint José).

April

  • 13th - Fiesta of Saint Vicent, the Patron Saint of Valencia.
  • 24th - Bull running and concerts – Fiesta of Jesus Nazareno.

May

  • 1st - National Fiesta - May Day.

June

  • 24th - Fiesta of Saint Juan - Tradition of jumping over the flames and making a wish.
  • End of June - A gastronomic International food festival located on Avda. Augusta just outside the Port.

July

  • 16th - 24th Moors and Christians. A fiesta with spectacular costumes, battles, dancing horses, bands and much more culminating on the last evening with a fantastic parade with floats, bands and incredible costumes.

  • End of the month a week of celebrations in Javea Port including Bulls by the sea.

October

  • 9th - National Fiesta - Community of Valencia with Celebrations.
  • 12th - National Fiesta of Spain.

November

  • 1st - National Fiesta - All Saints Day.

December

  • 6th - National Fiesta - Constitution Day.
  • 8th - National Fiesta - Immaculate Conception.
